Adrien de Chaisemartin

Deputy Director, COVID-19 Vaccine Supply and Policy

Adrien de Chaisemartin leads a team that works to improve COVID-19 vaccine supply and policy. He has more than 15 years of experience in global public health, working in Kenya, Tanzania, Ethiopia, Botswana, and South Africa.

Before joining the foundation, Adrien worked at Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance, as the director for strategy, funding, and performance. In that role, he was responsible for the development and monitoring of Gavi strategy from 2011 to 2021. At Gavi, Adrien also spearheaded a new model of engagement with partner organizations (including the World Health Organization, UNICEF, the World Bank, and more than 30 other organizations) and helped design a new process for grantmaking to countries. Adrien has a Master of Engineering from Ecole Polytechnique, a Master of Applied mathematics from Harvard University and a Master of Public Health from Johns Hopkins University.
