Nomi Fuchs-Montgomery

Deputy Director, Family Planning

Nomi Fuchs-Montgomery leads the Family Planning team’s work to sustainably scale up proven, high-impact practices at both the country and global levels, working with a broad range of partners across the family planning and reproductive health ecosystem. She manages a dynamic team that collaborates with the foundation’s country offices and other global partners, including the United Nations Population Fund, the World Bank, the World Health Organization, donors, country governments, and other key stakeholders. The work focuses on addressing evidence gaps and system-level barriers to accelerating the adoption of proven family planning practices in order to achieve greater impact.

Nomi previously led the Family Planning team’s Contraceptive Technology and Evidence and Innovation initiatives and helped direct the team’s approach to adolescents and gender-equitable programming.

Before joining the foundation in 2015, Nomi was director of global partnerships and United States country director at Marie Stopes International-US, where she was responsible for launching and leading the organization’s U.S. office and developing global partnerships.

Nomi has more than 25 years of experience in the fields of reproductive health, family planning, and HIV/AIDS, including collaboration with international bilateral donors, private foundations, UN agencies, leading nongovernmental organizations, feminist and youth-led organizations, and other finance partners. Her first professional assignment was as a Peace Corps volunteer in southeast Nigeria, where she worked on guinea worm eradication and discovered her passion for public health.
